1. Overview
SleepLearn is a language learning app from Niryph. The app is designed to work primarily on your device. Core use does not require an account, and the app stores learning progress, preferences, and session information locally.
2. Information We Handle
Information stored on your device
SleepLearn may store the following information locally so the app can remember your learning setup and progress:
- Selected language, level, word count, appearance, session theme, and playback preferences.
- Session history, daily goals, streaks, and words learned today.
- Word exposure counts, known words, favorited words, and custom learning lists where supported.
- Reminder settings, sleep timer preferences, ambient sound settings, sleep frequency layer settings, and audio voice preferences.
Information you send to us
If you email contact@niryph.com or use the in-app feedback flow, we receive the content of your message, your email address, and any details you choose to include, such as device information, issue descriptions, screenshots, or suggestions.
Audio assets and app resources
SleepLearn may prepare or download audio resources for selected languages and levels using Apple platform resource delivery. This is used to make audio available for playback and offline use after assets are ready.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and remember your learning sessions, progress, favorites, known words, and app preferences.
- Enable reminders, sleep timers, ambient sounds, audio playback, and app settings.
- Respond to support requests, troubleshoot bugs, and improve SleepLearn.
- Maintain the security, reliability, and quality of the app.
4. Local Storage and Backups
Most SleepLearn data is stored on your device. Your device backup settings, iCloud behavior, Apple ID configuration, and operating system settings may affect whether app data is included in device backups or restored to another device.
Deleting SleepLearn from your device may remove locally stored app data. Before deleting the app, consider whether you need any device backup available through Apple services.
5. Device Permissions
SleepLearn may request or use device capabilities only where needed for app features:
- Notifications: Used for optional bedtime reminders. You can turn notifications off in the app or iOS settings.
- Audio playback: Used to play vocabulary, translations, and ambient sounds during sessions.
- System brightness and overlays: Sleep mode may dim the screen and hide system overlays to reduce distraction during bedtime use.
6. Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We may rely on platform services, such as Apple App Store distribution, Apple on-demand resource delivery, device notifications, email clients, and operating system services. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
If you contact us by email, your email provider and our email provider process the message according to their own policies.
7. Your Choices
- You can change language, level, playback, reminder, appearance, timer, and ambient sound settings in the app.
- You can manage known words and favorited words in the app where those screens are available.
- You can disable notifications in SleepLearn or in iOS settings.
- You can delete the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.
- You can contact us at contact@niryph.com with privacy questions.
8. Children
SleepLearn is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to use digital services without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through email or support contact, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
9. International Users
If you contact us from outside the country where we operate, your email and support information may be processed in other locations depending on the email and infrastructure providers involved.
10. Health and Sleep Notice
SleepLearn is an educational app. It is not medical advice, sleep therapy, or a health service, and it is not intended to improve, diagnose, monitor, or treat sleep quality or any health condition. Optional generated frequency tones are experimental low-volume audio features only. If bedtime audio, generated tones, notifications, or app use affects your hearing, comfort, sleep, or wellbeing, stop using those features and consult a qualified professional if needed.
