Privacy Policy
How the game, optional connected services, and this website handle information.
1. Who we are
This notice applies to Word Search Puzzles: Offline, published by Niryph (“we”, “us”), and its support website. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@niryph.com. The app does not require a separate Niryph account.
2. Information we use and why
| Information | Purpose and handling |
|---|---|
| Saved puzzles, settings, scores, streaks, achievements, bonus collections, hint balances and credited purchase records | Stored locally to run the game, resume puzzles, remember choices and prevent duplicate hint credits. Device backups are governed by your device settings. |
| Product identifiers, purchase receipts or tokens, and purchase status | The app and Apple or Google use these to process and verify optional consumable hint purchases. Store providers handle payment details; we do not receive full payment-card information. We do not send purchase events to Firebase Analytics. |
| Platform player identifier, gamer nickname/profile, scores and achievement progress | Google Play Games on Android or Apple Game Center on iOS uses these when you use platform game features. Profile and leaderboard visibility follows your platform settings. These services can also process technical usage and diagnostic information under their own notices. |
| Crash traces, error details, installation identifiers and app/device technical information | Firebase Crashlytics helps us identify and fix crashes and errors. Details and your controls are below. |
| Support email address, message, attachments and details you choose to provide | Used to respond to enquiries, investigate issues and handle privacy requests. Send Feedback opens a draft in your mail app; review it before sending. Prepared details include app version, platform, operating system, device model, language, theme and grid size. |
Offline puzzles do not depend on crash-report uploads, notification permission or platform sign-in. Connected features need internet access. Daily reminders are scheduled on your device; we do not use Firebase Cloud Messaging or upload a notification token for them.
3. Technical crash reporting
In versions with Firebase Crashlytics, The Crash reports setting starts on for new installations. You can turn it off in Settings → Privacy → Crash reports and keep playing normally. A previously saved OFF choice is preserved. There is no first-run analytics or privacy-choice screen, and the app does not include Firebase Analytics.
Crashlytics receives technical crashes and errors, stack traces, app and operating-system versions, device information and installation identifiers. Native crash dumps may include technical process state. We do not add gameplay event logs, mode/topic/activity histories, word text, puzzle contents, scores, purchase events, feedback, names, email addresses or platform account identifiers to these reports. Reports are not fully anonymous: the SDK uses identifiers to process and group technical faults.
Reports are sent only while Crash reports is on, including a pending report from a previous run after a crash. Turning the setting off blocks future uploads and discards unsent reports; re-enabling it does not upload reports recorded while it was off. The SDK may record crash information locally before it is discarded. Reports already transmitted cannot be recalled by changing the switch.
The app uses Crashlytics to detect, investigate and fix technical failures, not to analyse your puzzle-playing behaviour or target advertising. We do not add an advertising identifier or a custom user identity. Settings governs app Crashlytics reporting, not store billing, platform game services or website hosting.
4. Providers and disclosures
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: technical crash and error diagnostics. See Firebase privacy and security and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google Play, Google Play Games and Apple App Store / Game Center: purchases, platform sign-in, achievements, leaderboards and platform review prompts. See the Google Privacy Policy, Apple Privacy Policy and Game Center & Privacy.
- Unity In-App Purchasing: connects the app to the platform store to deliver and verify hint packs and may process technical purchase diagnostics/performance information. See Unity’s player privacy notice. We do not use Unity Ads, EasyMobile, Fabric Answers or a separate Unity Analytics service in this release.
- Website hosting and email providers: handle technical requests and support correspondence needed to deliver and protect those services.
We use providers to operate these features. Platform providers also process account, billing and service data under their own notices. We do not sell gameplay data or use it for targeted advertising. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or investigate abuse, or during a business transfer subject to applicable safeguards.
5. This website
These pages contain no advertising or analytics trackers, account forms, cookies or browser storage. Hostinger may process IP addresses, request times, requested pages, browser information and security/error logs to host and protect the site. Store, provider-policy and email links open separate services with their own privacy practices.
6. Purposes and legal bases
Where UK or EEA data-protection law applies, we rely on the requested service for gameplay, purchase delivery and related support; legitimate interests in detecting and fixing technical failures, ordinary support, security and abuse prevention; and legal obligations where applicable. You can object to crash reporting using the Settings switch. We restrict reporting to technical faults and take account of your rights and expectations; where applicable law requires a different basis or prior consent, we must meet those requirements before processing. Platform providers determine the legal bases for their own services.
7. Retention
Local progress and preferences remain until overwritten, app storage is cleared or the app is deleted. Backups can retain copies under your backup settings. Store transaction records and platform game records follow Apple’s or Google’s retention policies and may remain after the app is removed.
Firebase Crashlytics retains crash traces and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal from live and backup systems. Firebase installation identifiers have separate service/deletion lifecycles. See Firebase’s retention information.
We retain identifiable support correspondence for up to 24 months after the last contact, unless an unresolved request, dispute or legal requirement needs longer. Hosting/security logs are kept according to operational needs and the hosting provider’s policy.
8. Your choices and rights
- Crash reports: use Settings → Privacy → Crash reports to stop future uploads and discard unsent reports. No reward or purchase depends on reporting.
- Local information: clear app storage where supported or delete the app; this may permanently remove progress and unused local hints. Manage device backups separately.
- Platform services: manage Play Games or Game Center sign-in, profile visibility and game data through platform settings. Store records follow the store’s policies.
- Daily reminders: switch them off in game Settings or device notification settings.
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, or object to certain processing. Contact us using the steps below. You may complain to your local data-protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
9. Request deletion of your data
- Turn off Crash reports in Settings → Privacy to stop future report uploads.
- Email contact@niryph.com with the subject “Word Search Puzzles: Offline — data deletion”. Describe whether your request concerns support correspondence, Crashlytics data or platform game records.
- Provide only the details needed to identify the record, such as the support email address and relevant date/app version. We do not link Firebase installation identifiers to your name or email, so we may need an installation identifier or further information to locate a particular record. Contact us for help; do not send passwords or payment-card details.
We will delete information we can identify and control, subject to applicable law and provider deletion capabilities. Already anonymised aggregates cannot be linked back to you. Necessary legal/security records may be retained for the applicable period, and provider backups may take longer to expire. Crashlytics records follow the retention described above. Deleting support correspondence does not remove store transaction history or platform profiles; manage those with Apple or Google. There is no separate Niryph account to delete.
10. Children
The game does not ask for a name or date of birth for core play and is not designed to collect children’s personal information. Parents and guardians should supervise optional connected services and purchases. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact us so we can investigate and arrange deletion where applicable. Where parental consent is required, connected data collection must not proceed without it.
11. Security and international processing
Crashlytics and platform game services encrypt network transmissions. We use reasonable measures to protect information we handle, but no system is completely secure. Google, Apple, Unity, hosting and email providers may process information outside your country. Applicable transfer safeguards are described in the provider notices and data-processing terms.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this policy as the game or providers change. The version and updated date identify the notice. Material changes will be communicated where required. Crashlytics is introduced only in an updated app version; older versions may not contain this feature or its Settings control.
